Nomster works because people book times they mean to use, write reviews about real visits, and businesses honour the offers they show. This policy explains what fair use looks like, for people using Nomster and for businesses on it. If you use Nomster in the normal way, you probably won't ever notice these rules.
This policy forms part of our Terms of service. It applies in Singapore and Malaysia.
1. Book & Save bookings
Book times you plan to use. Each Book & Save time has a limited number of places, so a booking you don't use might stop someone else getting a discount, and leaves the business with an empty table.
- Arrive on time. Your booking is held for 15 minutes after the booked time. After that, the business might not be able to keep it for you.
- Book for the right group size. The discount is for the number of people on the booking. If more people come, the business might not be able to seat everyone or give the discount to the extra people.
- Cancel if plans change. You can cancel in the app at least 60 minutes before the booked time. Cancelling is fine and there is no charge.
- No-shows. If you don't turn up and haven't cancelled, the booking counts as a no-show. 3 no-shows within 30 days means Book & Save is paused for your account for 14 days. After that, you can book again as normal.
- Repeated cancellations. Booking and cancelling over and over, for example to hold times you don't plan to use, might lead us to limit how many bookings your account can make.
- Up to 5 upcoming bookings at a time, so there's room for everyone.
- Discounts don't stack with other deals, vouchers or perks at the same business unless the offer says they do.
- Show your own booking code. Booking codes are for the person who made the booking and their group. Please don't sell or swap them.
2. One account per person
Each person may have one Nomster account. Opening extra accounts, or sharing one phone between many accounts, to get more bookings, trials, coins, perks or rewards isn't allowed. If we see several accounts used this way, we may link them and treat them as one.
3. Reviews, photos and coins
Coins are a thank-you for helping others, so they should come from genuine contributions.
- Review real visits. Write about your own experience, in your own words. Any rating is welcome: we never ask for a good review, and the stars you give don't change the coins.
- Use your own photos. Photos should be ones you took. Please don't use other people's photos, stock images or screenshots.
- No coin farming. Please don't post lots of very short, copied, repeated or unrelated reviews or photos, or reviews of places you haven't been to, to collect coins.
- No paid or swapped reviews. Don't review your own business or a competitor's, and don't accept payment, free items or other rewards from a business in return for a review.
- Checkpoint reports should describe what you actually see at the checkpoint.
Coins are added after a check, and contributions that don't follow these rules might not earn coins.
4. Promotions, trials and referrals
- Free trials (Nomster Pro and Nomster for Business) are one per person or business, and one per payment card.
- Referrals are for inviting people you know who actually want to use Nomster. Inviting yourself, or creating accounts to collect referral rewards, isn't allowed.
- Deals, vouchers and perks should be used as described in their conditions. Please don't resell them, copy codes to use more often than allowed, or use tricks to get around limits.
5. Businesses on Nomster
Businesses play a big part in keeping Nomster fair. If you list a business, post deals or offer Book & Save times, please:
- Honour the discount shown. When a customer arrives with a valid booking or deal, give the discount and conditions shown in Nomster at the time they booked. Don't add extra conditions at the counter.
- Keep your times up to date. Only offer Book & Save times you can actually serve, and change or pause them in the business portal if something comes up. If you have to cancel a booking, let the customer know as early as you can.
- Confirm turn-ups honestly. Use the customer's booking code to confirm they turned up, and only for customers who actually came. Don't mark real visits as no-shows, or no-shows as visits.
- Treat Book & Save customers like any other customer. The same menu, portions and service.
- Don't ask customers to cancel or book outside Nomster to avoid fees, and don't offer rewards for reviews.
- Keep your listing true. Opening hours, prices, photos and offers should reflect what you actually offer.
- Use customer details only to serve the customer they belong to.
If a customer reports a problem with a booking or deal, we may ask you about it and look at the records from both sides.
6. What might happen if these rules aren't followed
Most issues are honest mistakes, so we usually start with a reminder. Depending on what happened, and how often, we might:
- not add coins, or remove coins, rewards or referral rewards gained unfairly;
- remove a review, photo, deal or listing;
- pause or limit bookings for an account;
- end a free trial or perk that was obtained unfairly;
- for businesses, pause Book & Save or deals, or correct the turn-up fees billed; or
- in serious or repeated cases, suspend or close the accounts involved.
7. If you think we got it wrong
If you think a no-show, a coin decision or another action was a mistake, email hello@nomsterapp.com with the details (and your booking code, if it's about a booking) within 7 days. We'll look into it, and if we got it wrong, we'll put it right.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated as Nomster changes. If a change matters, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it applies.
